Dog problem?

Seems like you wandered off just as you were finishing your post.

Your dog might have a skin allergy. This can sometimes be helped by changing his diet. Avoid any food containing grain, especially corn and wheat. Avoid common proteins like chicken and beef. There are some foods available made with venison and pea or duck and potato. Try some of those. If that isn't successful consider a real meat diet for him.

It could be he was bitten by something, causing him to lick. Losing his hair could be from the friction of licking or from a bacterial infection either due to the bite, or the irritation from licking. Rotties are prone to skin irritations because of their dry skin. Mine is always getting a little infection here or there. Take him to the vet, they can do a skin scraping to see if it is fleas or anything serious and can give antibiotics.

maybe there's something stuck in his paw...if not..maybe he's itchy...all dogs shed...i don't think he just started to...do u mean loose hair like...in patches?? if so, you would need to take the dog in the see a vet. hope all things well!
