Winter coat for Pit Bull?

I am looking for a good quality, tough blanket/coat/sweater for my very active 7 month old pit bull female, who will be growing considerably in the next few months. Pitties are short hair dogs and I live in the northeast. I have mostly seen "cutie" clothes for little dogs, but no hard core weatherbeater gear for good old dirty dogs! We walk and run daily and hike in the state forest on weekends, so I need something that can stand up to the elements and rough wear!

Try ebay, honestly you can find some handmade super high quality coats.

I have a pit also and I found a puffer jacket at Petsmart. It works really well and hes comfortable enough in it to run and play. Good Luck!

I would suggest checking at a store that caters to hunters. Nyoprene makes jackets for dogs that not only keep them warm, but are waterproof too.

i have a half pit that im in the same boat with. i actually went to the childrens dept store (im pretty sure old navy) and bought her a childs down vest. one that has the longer flap in the back. when i put it on her i zip it under her belly. i had to do this with all my large breed dogs.

i have a pitt too and i live in NY so our winters r cold. hes three years old and yes they have very short hair. u can look in ur pet stores but i know nothing they sell fit my dog. seriously just go to a discount store(or a regular store) and buy her a kids size sweater that would fit her and just cut the sleeves to where she can walk. its cheep and its what i do for my dog and he loves it!

These are a different way to go. They are for hunting dogs and should be very tough. I don't know how warm they are although neoprene is used for insulating cup holders. I figure that running dogs heat up fairly fast anyway but this can offer protection against brambles.
