Needs to see the vet!!!!! Could be skin cancer, infection, mange, or a hormone problem, or about 7 other things, but NOT NORMAL!!!!

Kyra, go back to nursing school. Mange is neither fatal, nor treated with antibiotics. And also, humans CAN and DO get mange.

This is called necrosis of the skin, and is caused by a flesh eating bacteria. The most common form of this bacteria causes gangrene in humans. Usually it results in extensive hospitalization and amputation of effected limbs/extremities. This is extremely serious. You also should not touch the areas yourself, as I am not sure if necrotic bacteria can pass between species, although believe me, you do NOT want to test to find out with your own hands, because if you get it, you will have to chop those babies off! Get to a hospital/vet immediately.

sounds like mange!get to a vet please!easily curable with antibiotics if treated, frequently FATAL if not treated !!!!!!! by the way im a nurse.the necrosis in this case is not caused by mrsa, which is a human problem.sarcoptic mange is a cause of necrosis in dogs,it is not transmissable to humans .do not listen to the alarmist messege above.there have been NO cases of resistant staph("flesh eating bacteria") in dogs, and humans cannot get mange.that being said,ur dog is probably seriously ill and needs treatment.

Get your pet to the vet as quickly as possible. While this sounds like mange, it may also be something else. You have waited a long time for this to spread whereby the dog has lost all its hair and the skin is black. Don't wait another minute...do something...

Your poor puppy has mange. You need to take her to the vet immediately for antibiotics. If not, she may die. And her hair may not grow back.

It sounds as a condition that its slang for it is "black mange", but really is a hormonal imbalance.

My dog had the same issue many years ago. My vet treated her with antibotics and a sauve. You must take you dog in to the vet and have him/her treated.
