Why is my dog molting so much?

I have a 4 year old female lab, and lately she has started molting heaps. Its the middle of winter here and freezing cold at night so I'm worried about her losing so much hair when she needs the warmth

Could be anything, a vitamin deficency, stress, mange, for the best answer, and treatment, have a vet check her out.oh yeah, dogs shed, they don't molt, thats' for the birds.

She's a lab. That's what they do. Having her spayed will help though, and good quality dog kibble.

Dogs will shed 2 x a year. I guess it depends on where you live....but usually they shed in the fall and spring.

Wow....where do you live?? It's in the middle of the summer where I live...you must live on the other side of the earth!! That's cool!

Your dog probably has the Plague. You should catapult her carcass into your enemy's backyard. That's what they did back in the day.
