I have one of those. He's a 2 yr old Lab. He now lives in his Crate when we are not supervising him. I like to call it his dam.

I am trying bitter apple next. But he's always supervised now. I have not caught him in months. He's good with his toys and the other dogs BUT if he's alone. BEAVER.

This came out of nowhere in my house too. He was fine and then started eating the woodwork.

So MR BEAVER is crated. 100% of the time when I'm not watching.

I'm curious to see if anyone else has another idea because this beaver dog has me going crazy. Right now he's next to me. If he weren't, he'd be in his crate.

Good question. I have a huskey puppy and a boxer puppy. They are 6 and 7 months old and they still chew on everything. Thier newest thing is shoes. I haven't figured out how to stop them yet but if you do let me know.

Bitter apple spray. You can find it in any local petstore.

Spray it on what you don't want chewed up

get Bitter Apple Spray from Petco / Petsmart and spray is on things you don't want your puppy to chew, They learn the smell of it quickly and will not chew anything that smells like it, its not harmful but very yucky, I use Grannicks (not sure of spelling) and it works great

Since the dog has already damaged the wood.

You can put hot sauce on the spots where the dog likes to chew.

Make sure that the hot sauce is indeed HOT!!!

After tasting that the dog is unlikely to return to chew on that same spot again.

Or if you have a high pitched sound or horn that will scare the crap out of the dog if you catch it actively chewing!

ooh no dalmations are soooo naughty, but i have the right answer my 6 month old doberman Shepherd does that too all you do is buy lemon juice and put it on everything she bites on tell me how it goes!

bitter apples it comes in two types there is spray and a paste. the paste is fro furniture and wood work and the spray for everything else. good luck

The problem could be emotional. You say your dog is high strung, does she get plenty of exercise? Is she trapped in the house all day alone? Make sure she has ways to burn off some of that energy. Walk her every day, a dog her size needs lots of exercise. Take her to the park to play fetch, ect. The attention will do her good also. And , as someone else suggested, confine her to a crate when no one is home.
