poor mommy is suffering ,and it take to long to dry her hair ,dont want to chill the pups,i gave her hair cut to help dry faster, the fleas r getting on pups now.

I wouldn't recommend it. Instead, wash Mom and each puppy with regular Dawn Dish soap, soap them up good and distract them for about 5 minutes before rinsing them. Dry them thoroughly, and put them somewhere OTHER than their current nest. Wash ALL bedding in hot water- as hot as you can get it. Vacuum the floor, baseboards, and entire area, and set vacuum or vacuum bag OUTSIDE. Then replace bedding, and add a heating pad set on LOW under a thick layer of blankets/towels to assist in warming/drying the pups.

If you have carpet, you can buy some 20 Mule Team Borax (laundry soap aisle of grocery store) and sprinkle it heavily on all carpets, making certain it gets around edges and on baseboards, let sit for an hour or so, and vacuum the carpets. The borax dehydrates fleas and their eggs, but is not dangerous to pets. Do not let the mom of pups onto the carpets until you have vacuumed them though. No point taking chances with them eating or rolling in it. Good Luck!

You are gonna have to get this taken care of the medicine will get in pups while nursing.Put a flea collar on her.Fleas will kill puppies .Momma will be ok dry her with a hair dryer get rid of the fleas.

If you have a box of capstar then i recomend that you read the insert fully. It recomends when and why the product can be used safely. Since i threw my box away already i really can't remmeber, like Stiffy said call your vet. They are there to answer your questions, though it might take them a little while to find the a too.

You need a vet approved drop for mommy so that the meds don't go into the puppys mouth or you will lose them...if you medicate mommy then the pups will reap the cure...but ask the vet don't do it all yourself...there are lives at stake.

ok..it doesnt sound good for her or pups.fleas will actually kill the pups if they get out of hand.you were on the right track about cutting her hair. if you have the money have her flea dipped by a groomer and her hair cut.you will have to pick the fleas off the pups with a fine comb while she is away.change the bedding and get some flea spray and spray the new bedding down and surrounding areas.flea eggs will look like little specks of black dirt in the folds of the skin.get rid of those off the pups too.flea spray/bath will only kill fleas not the eggs.the eggs are really tough.if you have too here is what ive done.cut the mommys hair as short as you can get it and put her in the sink where you can work on her as long as shes not too big for it.you want to be able to work on her standing up so you will be comfortable.if you get aggravated she will sense that and try to get away.anyhow,cut her hair short.put her in a flea bath a strong one.then the fleas will climb up on her headthen actually take like a bic razor and shave her face and head if you cancover her eyes and take a sponge and put the flea bathe on her whole head protecting her eyes then rinse her.make sure you take care of pups while this is going on or the fleas on them will just get back on her too in a day or so.i have gotten dogs thru this before. also have gotten them through parvo.

Do NOT do any more potential damage. You should have called and consulted your vet. The flea bath is harmful enough and dish soap could be as well. NO MORE TOXINS. Puppies are small and extremely sensitive to chemicals. And that's what you are putting on your mother dog.

Now do the responsible thing and GET THAT DOG AND HER PUPS TO THE VET! And $$$ are no excuse. That is your responsibility and it is their right by law to receive proper medical care. If you don't, it is considered abuse and an Animal Control officer is well within his rights to cite you.

It is better not to use Pills and things on mommy dogs, try putting about two to four drops of peppermint and eucalyptus oil, neem oil on your dog's back (not near where the puppies nurse). Also wash and comb your dog regularly and ask the vet about vitamin b/brewer's yeast/garlic. Spray your dog's bed and around the bed with cedar oil. Your dog may smell odd, but the puppies won't be damaged by natural solutions. Comb out the puppies regularly as well.

Give the Capstar. It's fine. The only problem is that it will only last for 24 hours. Fleas can be fatal to tiny pups so try to get things under control quickly. You might talk to your vet about Frontline SPRAY. It can be used on mom and pups but you need to get the specific instructions from the vet.
