Shedding dog thats wants to sleep on my bed!?

My 1 yr old lab-hound mix (named Banana!) is really soft and cuddly. I have another dog that weighs over 50 pounds so he can't sleep on the bed obviously. I was excited at the thought of having a dog that could rest at my feet like you see on T.V., but there's a slight problem. She sheds. Little black hairs all over my bed! I want to keep my sheets looking nice but I also want her to be up on my bed. Any ideas?

If you want to have your dog on the bed, you need to get her a blanket of her own from a thrift store or garage sale. Get a several so you can keep a clean one available.

Only allow her on the blanket. Scold her when she gets on any other part of the bed. You can train her to get on the bed only when you spread out her blanket.

You should also get a comb that helps clean out the shedding fur from her coat. They have them at most pet stores. Always do the combing outside.

put a extra older sheet over the bed where he is going to sleep and then you can wash it and keep it just for him

Do what I do with my cats...I have trained then to sleep on their blanket. So they still get to sleep with me but they only get the fur on that blanket and it's easy to pull it off the bed when needed and throw it in the wash...Simple!

Take 2 minutes out of your day everyday and brush her. We brush all our animals everyday and this helps tremendously!

get a lint picker upper and brush your dog when he/she wakes up and when he/she goes to bed so that way he can do what he wants and you dont have to worry, or you can lay down blankets!

yes. take the sheets off and put an extra blanket on or more. but if it still doesnt work put her or him in a cage. you may not like the cage idea, but it will help. Gabriella

My dog does that too but ive just learn to deal with it. or else get some plastic sheets....
