Why is my 3 month old dog gagging alot.?

For the last week or so he starting gagging alot, he acts like he's going to throw up but didn't. Now the last couple of days, sometimes when hes gagging he spits up white foamy spit. This last time I noticed my cats hair in it. I can't pin point anything he's doing to start gagging. Sometimes its right after he drinks water, or after running around the yard. If anybody has an idea please let me know. Thank you

Confused.

Keep an eye on it. If it continues it may be good to consult your vet about it. This could really be any thing from him licking a pet bed that your cat sleeps on and consuming alot of hair to a serious problem like an obstruction. The vet will be able to tell you for sure what is going on and tell you how to treat it. Good luck

Clean up your house more. he may just be getting into junk.

Be careful of whatever gets into his mouth, because puppies of this age are so curious that end up trying to chew or eat everything and then they start gagging and making funny noises. Mine ate a piece of plastic bag a few nights ago and we thought he was choking, I got so scared and I had no vet emergency nearby, he even throw up and then get better. Anyway, I'm calling for an appointment next week.

Sorry to hear about your problems.

When you've mentioned "foamy white spit"..that's a bit like Bile sickness (when their tummy is empty)..althought that's normally yellow.

The fact that you've mentioned your cat's hair is in it.. I think it's the fact that he must be swallowing her hair somehow...whether he be playing with her (if this be the case, just please watch they are okay "playing together", so as the cat or the dog don't get hurt!!! It could be, your cat has left hair lying about and he likes the scent of her and he's chewing / swallowing up the hair..and it's getting stuck in his throat and then he is bringing it back up.

If i get a hair or something stuck in my throat I feel sick..although, personally I don't bring fur balls up!! I think that is what he doing.

I might be wrong..and I would suggest .. see how your replies go on here.. however if in doubt and if you are worried, please contact your vet. I don't think you need to be worried here.. I just think you need to keep a distance between him and the cat and her fur.

Good luck x

Could have swallowed something that is now causing a blockage. However, I cant understand why, when it's such a worrying change of behaviour for you, you haven't consulted the vet.
